A space to talk

Most people assume our role as funeral arranger stops as soon as the service is over – this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Looking after families following the funeral is an incredibly important part of our role, which is why we felt hosting a bereavement café was the right thing to do. Grief can be lonely and isolating, so we wanted to give local people a space to talk and connect with others who are going through something similar.

A Welcoming Space for Connection

The initiative offers a relaxed, friendly environment for anyone who may be feeling isolated or simply looking to meet others in their community. Attendees are invited to chat about whatever feels comfortable — whether or not they wish to talk about bereavement — while enjoying a selection of complimentary refreshments. It’s a space where people can unwind, share, listen, and feel supported at their own pace.

We are not a counselling service. All staff and Volunteers are trained and skilled in Understanding Grief, Bereavement and Loss, coupled with their own individual lived experiences of bereavement enhances the value of their support and understanding in this unique setting.
