Here for you
Karla Bradshaw Funeral Directors understands that, during times of loss, you need comfort, compassion, and thoughtful consideration of your personal, cultural, and religious beliefs. We offer a sensitive approach that gently supports your wishes while honouring what matters most to you.
Greener Funeral
If you’re unsure about the difference between an eco‑friendly funeral and a traditional one, you’re not alone. Many families are now looking for ways to make a farewell that not only honours their loved one but also cares for the world they leave behind. Eco‑friendly, or “green,” funerals are becoming increasingly meaningful for those who want their final act to be a positive one.
We are here to guide you with kindness and understanding. We can help you reduce the environmental impact of a funeral and create a tribute that supports the planet. Through tree planting, carbon‑footprint balancing, and thoughtful sustainable choices, we help you shape a farewell that reflects love, respect, and a commitment to a greener future.
More Than Just a Funeral A Celebration of Life
A funeral should reflect the life that was lived filled with love, memories, and individuality.
Whether you choose a traditional service, a gathering at a meaningful place, or something completely unique, we can help you create a farewell that truly honours your loved one. Our role is to empower you to shape a service that feels right, while offering steady support during an emotional and often overwhelming time. Let our family care for your family.
We will guide you through each step of arranging a funeral that suits your budget and allows you to celebrate the life of the person who has died in a meaningful way. All of our funeral options can be personalised if you wish. Some choices may involve additional third‑party costs, and we are always here to explain these clearly and openly.
We are committed to complete transparency with our pricing, ensuring you have a clear understanding of costs so you can make informed decisions that align with your needs, values, and preferences.
Cremation
We honour your choice of cremation, whether you feel most comfortable with a traditional coffin, a natural coffin, or a beautiful handmade shroud.
Centennial Park Crematorium is our preferred crematorium, dedicated to supporting low‑impact, environmentally mindful practices with care and respect.
Burial
We gently support your choice of burial, whether you feel drawn to a traditional burial or a natural one.
Many families are finding comfort in natural burial grounds peaceful places where loved ones may be laid to rest in sustainable coffins or shrouds, with a simple marker such as a native tree or a location recorded on a map. These settings offer a meaningful way to return to nature with dignity and tenderness.
We wholeheartedly support the use and development of natural burial grounds, and we are here to walk alongside you and your family as you explore these thoughtful, environmentally gentle options.
Prepaid Funerals
Planning ahead with Karla Bradshaw Funeral Directors gives you the chance to thoughtfully arrange and prepay for your own funeral, or for someone you love. It’s an act of care that can ease both the financial strain and emotional weight your family may face in the future. By making these decisions now, you spare your loved ones the stress and uncertainty of arranging a funeral during a time of grief. Instead, you give them the comfort of knowing everything has been taken care of with kindness and intention.
Care
Why do we use essential oils within our mortuary?
The use of herbs and essential oils in caring for the deceased has deep roots, reaching back to Ancient Egypt and later embraced by Pagan traditions. These practices were seen as a way to honour the person who had died with dignity, respect, and tenderness.
Karla believes strongly in continuing this gentle tradition. For us, essential oils are an important part of the care we provide within our mortuary.
We use carefully formulated essential oils to softly massage into the skin of the person who has died after they have been washed. This helps keep their skin soft and moisturized before we dress them, and the subtle scent remains present should you choose to spend time with them in our Chapel of Rest.
Coffins, Caskets and Shrouds
We are proud to offer an environmentally sustainable range of coffins, shrouds, and urns. Each piece is thoughtfully created by certified suppliers using sustainably sourced timber, wicker, or wool, giving families choices that honour their loved one while caring for the natural world.
